Pink Lining Yummy Mummy Bows Changing Bag, Grape – Review

pink lining yummy mummy purple bows changing bag review

Ive wanted a Pink Lining Yummy Mummy Bag since FOREVER, but having had 2 boys, I felt they were more suitable for girls. So when I had my daughter Layla, I instantly went and purchased this lovely changing bag at John Lewis for £79.00 in the Purple Bows to match her Bugaboo Cameleon which was also Purple and WOW, I certainly wasn’t disappointed!. I instantly fell in Love…

The Pink Lining Yummy Mummy Bag is quite a good size, measuring: H28 x W38 x D14cm… So its Big and Roomy but not overly HUGE were it could be mistaken for a weekend bag. I Breastfed my daughter for 10 months so I didn’t need a huge changing bag, but of course I needed a bag where I could put my water bottle in securely to keep hydrated. The Pink lining Yummy Mummy Changing Bag catered for my every need.

Pro’s:

  • Large and roomy
  • Wipeable outer fabric
  • Numerous exterior and interior pockets
  • 2x carry handles
  • Detachable long strap
  • Matching Acessories: Changing Mat, Wet Bag and Mirror

Con’s:

  • The outer Pockets/Cupholders are just plain canvas fabric, which attracts dirt and marks very easy
  • The bottom is also just Plain Canvas and so too picks up dirt

Exterior: The Pink Lining Yummy Mummy Bag is made from 100% Cotton Canvas that has been laminated with a EVA coating. Basically this makes the outer of the changing bag waterproof and gives the fabric a soft latex feel. The bag also features 2x carrying handles which can comfortably fit over your shoulder, with both handles featuring a leather soft grip handle. One of the handles has a popper clip so both handles can be locked together. A detachable long adjustable strap is also included which is great to carry the bag over your shoulder or over a 1 handlebar pram.

There is several exterior pockets with one being the front centre pocket which is lined in the Famous Pink Lining Nylon material and features a silent closing magnetic fastener. I use this particular pocket for my iPhone 4 it fits in perfect! and of course the Pink Lining bag wouldn’t be complete without the Yummy Mummy slogan with that very yummy looking Cupcake.

Pockets: Even though I was Breastfeeding Layla and therefore I had no baby bottles to carry around with me… Breastfeeding is very thirsty work and so I needed to carry bottles of water around with me everywhere I went. There is 2x eternal elasticated bottle holders which will comfortably hold a 330ml Plastic Bottle. Each Pocket is finished off with a lovely brown leather bow. My only downside to these pockets, is there are made of just plain canvas and therefore just cry out for anything dirty to cling too… But having said this, with a wipe over the marks come off.

Inside: has that famous Bright Pink Nylon Lining so therefore its easily wiped over to keep it looking nice and fresh. There is numerous pockets of all sizes in the Pink Lining Yummy Mummy Bag, they comprise of:

2x Insulated bottle holders which ive yet to use as bottle holders. This is because in the left one I keep all of my bits and bobs, like deodorant, body spray, fold up hairbrush and bobble and in the other pocket I keep all of Layla’s lotions and potions like Lansinoh Lanolin Cream, Bepanthen and also anti bacterial handwash for my hands of course after her nappy changes.

In between those Bottle holders, there is a little open pocket which I use to keep my keys in! I love this pocket LOTS… Believe me the last thing you want to do is throw your keys into a full changing bag… Having a baby scream blue murder and then you resulting into pouring the entire contents of your bag out, is not a good combination id recommend… So its a total must to keep your keys in a safe but easily accessible place.

At the back of the bag is 2x Large Pockets, these I use to hold Layla’s nappies in one and in the other wipes/Nappy sacks, I can get a full 64 pack of Johnsons wipes in just 1 pocket and a good Handful of Nappies in the other!!! so You could quite easily use this Changing Bag for overnight stays. There is also a clip on elastic which you could use with your keys or keep dummies safe, a pen holder and a D-ring situated at the side so you can clip on your Mirror from the accessory pack.

Lastly along the back there is a small zipable pocket which ive found great to keep my lucky £20 note in (I always make sure I have some cash/paper money for emergency purposes)…Thankfully Ive never had to use it.. but I know its securely tucked away should I need it.

Accessories: Heres the accessory pack which comprises of, large fold out Changing Mat, zipable Wet/Messy Bag and Plastic clip in Mirror.

The Changing mat is nicely padded and folds out to a good size, it tucks nicely into the bag as does the wet bag. The wetbag ive used for a variety of things, holding bibs, food, clean clothes, dirty clothes etc… Its PVC and so a quick wipe over and its good as new.

Overall:

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE this bag!… I have owned this for nearly 11 months and I use it everyday and its still going strong! It has carried all of Layla’s baby paraphernalia in style and I wouldn’t be without it. If your wanting a stylish,  yet a very practical-meet-yours-and-babies-needs Changing Bag… Then this is the Changing Bag for you!

Disclosure: We purchased this Pink Lining Yummy Mummy Changing Bag ourselves. All opinions are our own x

That really is rather a lovely bag – “Yummy Mummy” I wasn’t when my kids were little, but I think I would rather have liked this 😀 Thanks for linking up to the Parenting Pin it Party this week.

I’ve always love the look of these bags but thought the price tag was a bit high and wasn’t sure if they were worth it. Good to know that it really is a good bag, certainly sounds good, but I’m still not sure if the price tag is a little too high for me! 🙂 #triedtested

Yeh I can see what you mean, £79 for me is quite a high price tag for a Bag. But the way I seen it was, I use to buy river island bags which were £40+ and id have it for a couple of months then get a new one… This Bag is the only bag I have/use and already ive saved myself money 🙂 x
