Machine Knitted Xmas Hat

So the Christmas festivities are under way! and I especially love this time of year for its crafts, I love anything crafty and I always have a motto of, “if I can make it myself, I will!”

My lovely nana use to use knitting machines in the 60’s/70’s and she’s still got them, so I’ve borrowed them. So far I’ve only managed to make blankets like this:

Bugaboobluejewelledblanketand now after a little time (well ok a few months hehe) iveΒ learnt how to knit aΒ hat!!! πŸ™‚ It took me only 30minutes to make.. I did a 1 by 1 welt and then fair isle pattern in snowflake, then just knit, sewed it up and added a pom pom… I used the colours of Daultons school coat in his hat πŸ™‚ that reminds me I need to get a pic of him with it on.

Ive Entered this into the Linky Below… Come and Check it out πŸ™‚

That’s fantastic! I remember the knitting machines used to be quite hard work, 30 minutes contradicts that, well done x

I’m very impressed-my granny knitted me a fab jumper when I was little. Very much doubt I’ll be doing the same for my grandchildren-really can not sew or knit at all!

My nana use to handknit us all a jumper or cardigan each, every xmas… I cant hand knit to save my life haha, i start off good, but then i somehow end up with more or less stitches and then i get random holes :/

That is AWESOME – what a great hat (love the blankets too). I can remember my Mum having a knitting machine but she has gone back to hand these days. Thank you for linking to PoCoLo x
