How to Make a Tutu for your Little Lady, with no Sewing Needed and takes 10 Minutes to do!!! Its soooooo Easy and Enjoy.
Here is what you need:
- Tulle/Netting
- Elastic
- Thread
- Sewing Needle
- Scissors
Here is What you Need
Measure your Little ones waist and cut the elastic to length, My little lady isnt here yet, so i measured the waist on her Sleepsuit and i got 16 and half “
You can hand sew the elastic together, or tie in a knot, or use a sewing machine…
Ive double stitched both edges down on the elastic, so no elastic sticks up or pokes through the tutu
Cut your Tulle Netting to legth, I wanted 8″ in length so doubled this up to 16″ and cut… I then decided to do 10cm widths… so you should end up with strips measuring 16″ x 10cms… the amount of tulle strips you need will vary alot on how big your elastic is and if you want the Tutu to be more puffier etc
Fold Over one strip of tulle like so
Place the Tulle underneath the elastic as shown
Then feed the ends of the tulle through the loop and pull tight
Heres my first layer in white
I then added pink Tulle to the Tutu and put a Pink Tulle piece between every white one. Because ive made this for a newborn, i dont want it anymore puffier, but if you do, simply just add more over the Tulle thats there.
Taaaa Dahhhhhh its done 🙂 It took me about 10 mins to do! which is nothing, have fun 🙂
